"Let's find a fair and simple solution by determining the locations and times where the cameras will be allowed to film," stated Philippe Piat, the vice-president of the French LFP, to News Tank on the subject of the boycott of Canal+ decided upon by the French clubs Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1) and Olympique Marseille (Ligue 1) after the sanctions against Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Paris Saint-Germain, four-match suspension) and Dimitri Payet (Marseille, two-match suspension) by the league's disciplinary committee for insulting post-match comments about referees.

"We have to condemn the remarks of the players, they are unacceptable. But, all the same, there is the question of broadcasting (live) the words that were spoken. Sometimes two teammates fall out at the end of a game, but exchanging a few sharp words is very different to seeing them broadcast on a loop on television," said Philippe Piat, who is also the president of FIFPro, the international football players' union.
