LALIGA/Piracy: Cloudflare & RootedCON's requests to annul proceedings rejected

"Commercial Court No. 6 of Barcelona (Catalonia, ESP) has fully dismissed the requests for annulment of proceedings filed by Cloudflare (cloud service) and RootedCON (IT security service), among others, against the final judgment issued on 18/12/2024, which ordered the blocking of IP addresses used for the unlawful distribution of audiovisual content belonging to LALIGA," announced the Spanish league on 26/03/2025.

The court's order states that "it is not proven, from the arguments made by the various petitioners, that any damage has occurred, nor is such damage identified, nor quantified, nor is the taking of any evidence requested aimed at proving, directly or indirectly, the generation of damage as a constitutive element of the claim for annulment."

"The decision reaffirms that the action brought is in accordance with the law and is protected by the current legislation regarding intellectual property and information society services, ratifying the validity of the procedure," explained LALIGA.
