Premier League: two summer transfer windows confirmed due to the FIFA Club World Cup 2025

"Premier League clubs have today agreed the dates for the Summer 2025 transfer window. The window will open early, between Sunday 01/06 and Tuesday 10/06, due to an exceptional registration period relating to the FIFA Club World Cup. It will then reopen on Monday 16/06 and close on Monday 01/09," announced the English league on 27/03/2025.

The decision to have two transfer windows will allow Manchester City FC and Chelsea FC to sign players before the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, in which they will participate, as recent winners of the Champions League, in 2021 and 2023 respectively.

Under FIFA rules, the Premier League is only authorised to have a 12-week summer transfer window and a 4-week winter transfer window (as is the norm in Europe) for a total of 16 weeks in the calendar year, which means that the five-day break will allow the window to run until 01/09.
