Spain: launch of beIN Sports in partnership with Mediapro on 01/08/2015

The pay-TV channel beIN Sports will be launched in Spain on 01/08/2015, in partnership with Mediapro, announced Jaume Roures, the founder and president of the Spanish audiovisual group (which will own "half" of beIN Sports in Spain), at the conference "Foro de la Nueva Comunicación" (New Communication Forum) in Madrid (Spain) on 14/04/2015.

The Mediapro group owns the Gol T pay-TV channels, which hold the broadcasting rights in Spain to the Liga BBVA, the Barclays Premier League, and the UEFA Europa League. "The channel Gol T2 Internacional will cease broadcasting at the end of the season (2014-15)," said Jaume Roures. beIN Sports in Spain will broadcast " the Champions League, the Europa League and the foreign leagues, including Ligue 1 and and the Serie A," said the president of Mediapro.

"We hope that beIN Sports will be distributed by all pay-TV operators," said Jaume Roures on 14/04/2015.

Mediapro and beIN Media Group hold all of the rights to broadcast the European Cups in Spain from 2015 to 2018
