Bayer 04 Leverkusen: three new heads of the brand, internationalisation & marketing departments

Bayer 04 Leverkusen (Bundesliga) has announced three appointments to head up three of its departments on 31/03/2025.

• Marleen Groß has been appointed head of brand. "She has a strong background in brand management and marketing, with roles at FC Schalke 04 and Hamburger SV (2.Bundesliga) and will bring creative ideas and energy to our exciting Bayer 04 brand," said Bayer Leverkusen.

• Tobias Schmidt will be head of internationalisation for the club. He has previously worked for the social network X (formerly Twitter), DFL Digital Sports (a subsidiary of the German Football League specialised in the production and distribution of digital content) and various German clubs: 1. FC Köln (Bundesliga), FC Schalke 04 and RB Leipzig (Bundesliga). "Tobias's focus on international brand visibility will continue Bayer 04's global momentum."

• Jan B. Thelen has been appointed head of marketing and B2C sales. He has held various positions at the Lagardère agency, SV Werder Bremen (Bundesliga) and Nielsen Sports. "He's here to help us grow and connect with our fans even more," added the German club.
