Rugby: BT (telecom) becomes shirt sponsor of the Scottish national team until 2018

The British telecom group BT has become the shirt sponsor of the Scottish national rugby team until 2018, replacing the Scottish bank RBS, announced the Scottish Rugby Union on 14/04/2015.

BT will also appear on the shirt of the U-16, U-18, U-20 and women's national teams. BT also holds the naming rights to the Murrayfield Stadium (68,000 seats) where the Scottish national team and the Scottish professional league have played since 28/05/2014.

  • BT is also the shirt sponsor of the Scottish national rugby sevens team and two professional rugby clubs: Edinburgh Rugby and Glasgow Warriors.
  • "We are very pleased to invest in Scottish Rugby with this sponsorship, which allows BT and BT Sport to demonstrate a commitment to supporting the game north of the border. This is part of our long-term commitment to rugby, where we see great growth potential in the coming years," said Marc Watson, the chief executive of television at BT Retail on 14/04/2014.
