UEFA Congress: L. Klaveness F. Paauw among 10 elected to ExCo, G. Gravina & H-J. Watzke re-elected

Norwegian Lise Klaveness, the only candidate, was elected by acclamation to the UEFA executive committee for the position reserved for a woman (four-year term) at the European body's 49^th Ordinary Congress in Belgrade (SRB) on Thursday 03/04/2025.

Of the seven seats renewable for four-year terms, Frank Paauw (Netherlands, 49 votes out of 55), Marijan Kustić (Croatia, 42 votes), Ari Lahti (Finland, 41 votes), Aivar Pohlak (Estonia, 37 votes) and Armen Melikbekyan (Armenia, 29 votes) were elected, while Gabriele Gravina (Italy, 48 votes) and Hans-Joachim Watzke (Germany, 48 votes) were re-elected.

The other two seats, renewable for two-year terms, are now occupied by Rafael Louzán (Spain, 32 votes out of 55) and Moshe Zuares (Israel, 31 votes). The complementary election of these two members for a shorter term of office was intended to replace the Spaniard Luis Rubiales, who resigned as vice-president on 10/09/2023 following the scandal of the forced kiss on international Jennifer Hermoso, and the Ukrainian Andrii Pavelko, who was removed from office as he was no longer president or…
