Borussia Dortmund: partnership with Pittsburgh Steelers (NFL) for bilateral development

Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) and the Pittsburgh Steelers NFL franchise have entered into a partnership to "further both club's efforts in each other's markets through joint team activities, content and fan engagement initiatives," announced the two entities on 03/04/2025.

This is the first partnership of this type for the two clubs. As part of the partnership, a delegation from the Steelers travelled to Dortmund (GER) "to experience first-hand a home match at Signal Iduna Park and its world-famous 'Yellow Wall'. Prior to that, in December 2024, a BVB delegation were welcomed to Pittsburgh (USA) for a Steelers home game at Acrisure Stadium."

In 2024, the Steelers obtained international marketing rights for Germany as part of the NFL's "Global Markets Program", in order to enable the franchise to forge partnerships and organise activities in the country. In February 2024, Borussia Dortmund opened an office in New York City to develop its activities in North America.
