Social media: World Athletics, the best-performing international federation in 2024

World Athletics is ranked first among the best-performing international Olympic federations on social media according to the "Sport On Social League Table" drawn up by digital and creative agency Redtorch (GBR) and published on 31/03/2025.

World Athletics has moved up one place since 2023 at the expense of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), which is ranked 7^th in 2024 whereas it was first in 2022 and 2023. World Aquatics (up 3 places) and the International Cricket Council (up 8 places) complete the podium in 2024. The International Canoe Federation (ICF, 23^rd) was the body that experienced the biggest increase (+12 places), while the International Weightlifting Federation (40^th) dropped the most in the rankings (-12 places) compared to 2023.

This ranking is based on the number of followers, the rate of growth in the number of followers, engagement rate and the number of videos viewed on social media (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and X) of 43 summer and winter Olympic federations during the year of the Paris 2024 Games.
