Kings League Germany: G2, first esports club to launch its own team in the league in Europe

G2 Esports has launched its own team "G2 FC" to take part in the Kings League Germany, a 7-a-side football competition created by the Kosmos investment fund (founded by the Spanish ex-footballer Gerard Piqué), announced the esports organisation based in Berlin (GER) on 02/04/2025.

The German competition, which has eight teams, will be officially launched on 12/04/2025. "G2 FC is based in Berlin, with 2 Berliner footballers appointed as team manager and coach. Ron Stublla, with a background in sports management and previously played in the Youth Bundesliga (under-19s), joins as team manager alongside new coach, Malik Hadziavdic, who was a member of the German national futsal team and played for FC Liria Berlin in the Futsal Bundesliga," said the esports club, whose Kings League matches will be co-broadcast on the Twitch channels of content creators Reeze and Rumathra (with RTL Deutschland also broadcasting the entire competition via its RTL+ platform).
