Registration of D. Olmo & P. Víctor: "The CSD's decision is not legally sound" (LALIGA)

"LALIGA has learned of the CSD (Higher Sports Council) Resolution, which resolves the appeal lodged by FC Barcelona (LALIGA EA Sports) and the players Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor on 07/01/2025, challenging the denial of preliminary visa and registration of said players by LALIGA and the RFEF. LALIGA believes that the decision communicated is not legally sound," announced the Spanish body on 03/04/2025.

The Spanish League's reaction comes one day after the CSD indicated that "the RFEF - LALIGA committee was not competent to rule on the matter" and that its decision not to grant the two players a licence "must be considered null and void."

LALIGA, which "reiterates its commitment to legality, fair competition and the objective application of the regulations on financial fair play and player registration", stated that it would appeal immediately, stating the reasons for its decision (see below).
