Puma: Tara McRae promoted to president for North America

Tara McRae has been promoted to president of Puma North America "with immediate effect," announced the German equipment manufacturer on 08/04/2025.

The American had already spent 10 years with the German brand between 2006 and 2016, during which time she was head of marketing for North America (from 2013 to 2016). After stints at Clarks (footwear) and TB12 (sports nutrition), she rejoined Puma in August 2024 as senior vice president of marketing and brand strategy.

Tara McRae is the first woman ever to be appointed president of the North American region at Puma. She succeeds Bob Philion, who has held this position since July 2017, and has served the company in a variety of senior roles since February 2005. Philion will "pursue opportunities outside of Puma," said the brand.

• This announcement comes six days after Arne Freundt resigned as CEO and chairman of the management board due to "differing views on strategy execution" after 14 years in various management positions.
