FC Barcelona: LALIGA denies disclosing confidential information but withdraws statement in question

"In relation to the note published by FC Barcelona (LALIGA EA Sports), LALIGA wishes to express its total disagreement with the accusation regarding an alleged breach of the duty of confidentiality due to the dissemination, by this institution, of the press release referred to by FC Barcelona," announced the Spanish League on 08/04/2025. Nevertheless, "In order to avoid formal controversies that could divert attention from the underlying issue the aforementioned press release has been withdrawn. It is expressly stated that this does not imply any acknowledgment of irregularity in its content," added LALIGA.

The day before, Barça had demanded "absolute discretion" from the league and its president (Javier Tebas) regarding the economic information sent to it by the Catalan club as well as the withdrawal of the LALIGA press release published five days earlier.
