CSR: VfL Bochum & Danish FA among the 5 winners of the 2024-25 UEFA Grassroots Awards

The 2024-25 UEFA Grassroots Awards go to VfL Bochum (Bundesliga, "best professional club initiative" category), Smørås IL (NOR, "best amateur club"), the Polish Football Association ("best education initiative"), the Swiss Football Association ("best participation initiative") and the Danish Football Association ("best disability initiative"), announced the European Confederation on 09/04/2025.

"These projects highlight how grassroots football can nurture talent, support personal growth, and ensure the game is accessible to people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Each award recognises excellence in delivering inclusive, innovative and sustainable grassroots football," said UEFA.

Each winner also receives a €10,000 prize from the American video game publisher EA Sports, a partner of the awards.

VfL Bochum won first prize in the "best professional club initiative" category for its "Blau-Weißer Bewegungsraum" programme, which "encourages children to spend more time enjoying movement" and has put on "60- to 90-minute sports and activity sessions in schools and kindergartens."
