Cycling: Quantum Pacific (Club Atlético de Madrid) acquires 43% of Abarca Sports (Movistar Team)

London-based investment firm Quantum Pacific Management has acquired a 43% stake in Spanish cycling team Abarca Sports (Movistar Team), announced the latter on 11/04/2025.

"As a result, the Movistar men's, women's, gravel, and esports teams will be strengthened within the global cycling scene by having an investor of Quantum's prestige and financial capacity on board," said Abarca Sports, which becomes a minority shareholder in the team alongside Eusebio Unzué and Francisco Fernández Maestre.

Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS), a shipping company which is also "affiliated with Quantum", has also become a “logistical and financial partner" of the Movistar Team and will display the EPS logo on the bottom of the jerseys of the men's and women's road and gravel teams from 2025.

Quantum Pacific Management is also a 33% shareholder in Club Atlético de Madrid (LALIGA EA Sports) and FC Famalicão (Liga Portugal Betclic).
