"We will adopt goal-line technology (which determines whether or not the ball has completely crossed the goal-line) in Ligue 1 for the 2015-16 season," stated Frederic Thiriez, president of the French LFP (and chairman of the EPFL), after the meeting of the Board of Directors of the league in Paris (FRA) on 16/04/2015.

"It will go very fast. We will contact the two main operators, one is English (Hawk-Eye), the other is German (GoalControl-4D), and the system will be applied from the start of the 2015-16 season, that is, by 08/08/2015, and it will be funded and supervised by the league," stated Frederic Thiriez, adding that this innovation was adopted unanimously by the Board of Directors.
