Germany: ProSieben & Deutsche Telekom to broadcast FIBA competitions (2025-2029)

The broadcasting group ProSiebenSat.1 and telecommunications operator Deutsche Telekom have acquired the rights to broadcast FIBA international competitions in Germany for the 2025-2029 cycle, announced the International Basketball Federation on 15/04/2025.

ProSieben has been awarded the free-to-air media rights to all German national team games for the 2026 Women's Basketball World Cup (hosted by Germany), the 2027 Men's Basketball World Cup, the Women's EuroBasket 2027 and 2029, the Men's EuroBasket 2029 and selected games from the men's and women's Olympic qualification tournaments for the LA28 Olympic Games. "The final, along with selected games from the quarter-finals and semi-finals of each event, will also be broadcast across the ProSieben, Sat.1 or ProSieben Maxx services," said FIBA.

Deutsche Telekom, owner of the Magenta TV and Magenta Sport streaming platforms, has acquired all the games for these events as well as the playoffs to gain access to these competitions. "Deutsche Telekom will also manage host broadcast production for qualifier games played in Germany," added…
