Sky Bet Championship: Luka Modrić (CRO, Real Madrid CF) becomes a shareholder in Swansea City AFC

Professional footballer Luka Modrić (Real Madrid CF, LALIGA EA Sports) has become an "investor and co-owner" of Swansea City AFC (Sky Bet Championship), announced the Welsh club on 14/04/2025. The share acquired by the Croatian has not been disclosed, but is said to be a minority one according to British daily The Guardian.

"We are delighted that Luka has joined our ownership group. From our first discussions, it was clear that there was alignment on our visions and that Luka would be a real asset to our group. We'd like to thank Luka and his team for their support through this process," said a statement from the board of Swansea City, currently 12^th in the Sky Bet Championship (after 42 out of 46 games).

The club is majority owned by Americans Andy Coleman, Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen (via Swansea Football LLC) with 77.41%. Briton Nigel Morris (14.04%) and Swansea City Supporters Society Ltd (7.59%) are the club's other shareholders, according to information provided by Swansea City.
