Manchester City FC (Premier League) were the most popular European club on social media in China in 2024, according to the "Red Card 2025" report (available to download) by the Mailman Group, a Chinese agency that analyses and manages the digital presence of brands online, published on 17/04/2025. With 98 points, the club is first place in the ranking, ahead of rival Premier League club Manchester United FC (73 points) and FC Barcelona (LALIGA EA Sports, 69 points).

"The Red Card 2025: Asia Digital Performance Index has ranked the world's biggest football clubs based on a detailed analysis of followers, growth, and engagement across China's most popular social platforms, including Weibo, Douyin, Bilibili, and RedNote. The report also provides a comprehensive look at how football clubs, leagues, and brands are leveraging innovative strategies to connect with fans in one of the world's most dynamic regions," explained Mailman Group, which also looked at "UEFA's record-breaking engagement during Euro 2024" (see below).
