"From now on, any discriminatory or defamatory comments will be systematically blocked by the club's official account and reported to the platform on which the comment was posted. AS Saint-Étienne (Ligue 1 McDonald's) will support and assist the player or employee concerned in any legal proceedings," announced the French club on 23/04/2025.

"To combat this behaviour, some of which is inappropriate and some of which is racist, misogynist or homophobic, and to compensate for the lack, if not the absence, of moderation by the platforms, AS Saint-Étienne will henceforth apply zero tolerance. This aims to protect players and employees who are the victims of targeted and insulting remarks, beyond mere criticism, via digital platforms," added the club.

In April 2024, the club had 2.5 million followers on social media: 1 million on Facebook, 923,000 on X, 432,000 on Instagram and 158,000 on TikTok.
