La chaine L'Équipe: 1.4 million viewers for Barça-Real (Copa del Rey), a record for a football match

This is "the best audience ever for a football match," according to the channel, which also recorded an audience share of 3.9% for Saturday 26/04/2025. It also posted the "best April ever", with an audience share of 1.6% (up 0.2% on April 2024).

The previous audience record for a football match broadcast by the channel was held by the final of the 2025 Supercopa de España, also between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona (2-5), which drew an average of 1.3 million viewers, with a peak of 1.7 million on the channel on Sunday 12/01/2025 (kick-off at 20:00 CET), according to Médiamétrie.

La chaine L'Équipe holds the exclusive free-to-air broadcasting rights in France for the Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de España over the 2022-2025 cycle.
