France/Ligue 1 TV rights: "LFP Media and DAZN have reached an agreement to end their dispute"

"As part of the mediation process initiated by Patrick Sayer, president of the Paris Economic Activities Court, LFP Media and DAZN have reached an agreement to end their dispute," announced the Ligue de Football Professionnel on 02/05/2025. Details of the agreement have not been disclosed.

"DAZN welcomes these fruitful discussions and the signing of an agreement. We will now return to work for the coming weeks: we are entering a new phase of discussions with the LFP," said the OTT platform to News Tank on the same day. This agreement also ends the proceedings brought by DAZN against the LFP before the Paris Economic Activities Court on 30/01/2025. The platform was claiming €309m for "fraudulent misrepresentation" and €264m for "breaches of contract", i.e. a total of €573m.

DAZN, which holds the domestic TV rights to eight (out of nine) Ligue 1 McDonald's games per matchday for an average of €400m per year over the 2024-2029 cycle, had postponed payment of its penultimate instalment (€70m) for the Ligue 1 TV rights by a few days to facilitate exchanges with the LFP.
