Los Angeles 2028: Olympic Games opening ceremony to be held in two stadiums for the first time

The opening ceremony of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games on 14/07/2028 will be held in two separate stadiums in California (USA), at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (77,500 capacity) and at Inglewood Stadium (or "SoFi Stadium", 70,000 capacity), announced the organising committee, which presented the host venues for the ceremonies of the fourth Summer Games to be held in the United States on 08/05/2025.

For first time in the Olympic Games history, the Paris 2024 COJOP staged the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games (on the Seine, in the heart of Paris) and the Paralympic Games (Place de la Concorde, Paris 8^th arrondissement) outside a stadium. For its part, the American committee will be hosting the first Olympic opening ceremony to be held in two venues. "The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum will become the first venue in history to host three Olympic Games (1932, 1984 and 2028)," said Karen Bass, Mayor of Los Angeles.
