Olympique Marseille: "Espace Furiani 1992" unveiled at the Orange Vélodrome in memory of the tragedy

Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1 McDonald's) have inaugurated the "Espace Furiani 1992" in the south hall of the Jean Bouin stand at the Stade Orange Vélodrome, in the presence of Pablo Longoria, president of the club, Benoît Payan, Mayor of Marseille, Renaud Muselier, President of the Southern Region and Josepha Guidicelli, president of the Collectif des victimes du 5 mai 1992 (Collective of victims of 5 May 1992), on 12/05/2025.

This space is "a place of remembrance and meditation dedicated to the victims of the Furiani tragedy on 05/05/1992. This initiative, led by Treizième Homme (OM's CSR programme) with the support of the Région Sud, embodies a strong commitment to the duty of remembrance made by the club's president, Pablo Longoria. At the heart of this space, the commemorative stele designed by artist Elie Cristiani stands out as a symbolic landmark of memory and remembrance. The Espace Furiani 1992 is intended to be a permanent place of transmission and awareness, for present and future generations."
