New Zealand Rugby: a record €135.3m in revenue (+6.5%) & net loss of €10.6m in 2024

New Zealand Rugby posted a record NZ$285.247m (€135.3m) in revenue at the end of the 2024 financial year (01/01 to 31/12/2024), up 6.5% on 2023, but down 11.7% at constant exchange rates (NZ$267.8m/€153.3m on 31/12/2023), announced New Zealand Rugby on 08/05/2025.

NZR posted a deficit for the third consecutive year, of -NZ$19.536m (-€10.6m), compared with -NZ$8.91m (-€5m) in 2023. "While the organisation came close to break-even operationally, foreign exchange hedging on sponsorship revenue; and investment into revenue growth initiatives through New Zealand Rugby Commercial (NZRC) resulted in a net deficit," said the body.

"Pleasingly, we retained our cash position and reserves (NZ$174.5m/€94.6m), and operationally, delivered a near break-even result," said Mark Robinson, CEO of NZR.

Revenues were largely driven (91.6%) by the body's commercial revenue, which reached NZ$261.4m (€141.7m) when sponsorship, media rights and matchday revenues are combined, an increase of 21%.
