LALIGA EA Sports: DAZN acquires free-to-air rights in Spain to 1 game per matchday (2025-2027 cycle)

The OTT platform DAZN has acquired the free-to-air broadcasting rights to one LALIGA EA Sports game per matchday for the 2025-2027 cycle (two seasons), announced LALIGA on 13/05/2025.

DAZN will pay €4m per season for these rights, according to Spanish media outlet 2Playbook. "This new allocation of rights represents a key step in our growth strategy in Spain. The fact that we will be able to offer a LALIGA match free-to-air for the next two seasons gives us a unique opportunity to make contact with new fans who will discover the innovative experience offered by DAZN," said Oscar Vilda, CEO of DAZN for Spain and Portugal.

The platform also holds, along with telecoms operator Telefonica (owner of the Movistar TV bouquet), the pay-TV rights to LALIGA EA Sports in Spain for the 2022-2027 cycle. They each broadcast five game per matchday on 35 of the 38 matchdays, while three matchdays per season are shown exclusively on Movistar.
