United States: new "ESPN" OTT platform to be launched in autumn 2025 at $29.99 per month

American group ESPN (The Walt Disney Company) will launch its new eponymous streaming platform in the United States in autumn 2025, it announced on 13/05/2025.

The new OTT service will offer two distinct subscription rates:
• an unlimited offer at $29.99 (€27) per month (or $299.99/€269 per year) giving access to all ESPN channels including "47,000 live events per year, on-demand replays, studio shows, original programming, and more";
• a limited offer at $11.99 (€10.70) per month (or $119.99/€107.70 per year) offering access to "all content available on ESPN+, including more than 32,000 live sports events annually."

The American group currently has the ESPN+ platform on which a number of sporting events are broadcast, including university matches and UFC events. "Existing ESPN+ subscribers will automatically become subscribers to ESPN's new service, based on their current subscription level." The launch of this OTT service comes after the failure of the proposed joint platform between Disney, Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery, Venu Sports (see below).
