NFL: a game to be broadcast free of charge worldwide on YouTube for the first time on 05/09/2025

The National Football League has extended its partnership with the video platform YouTube (Google) for the free worldwide broadcast of an NFL regular season match on 05/09/2025, announced the North American league on 13/05/2025.

This is the first time that the platform will broadcast an NFL match live and free of charge. The company owned by Google will broadcast the match between the Los Angeles Chargers and an undetermined opponent (Game Week 1 of the 2025 regular season), played at the Corinthians Arena (49,000 capacity) in São Paulo (Brazil), on its platform and via YouTube TV (subscription-based streaming service).

As part of its partnership with the NFL, Google has held the rights to broadcast the NFL Sunday Ticket in the United States on its platform, YouTube, since the 2023 season. The NFL Sunday Ticket includes all Sunday afternoon matches "outside the local market", i.e. matches that are not in the viewer's local region.
