esports/FFF: Volkswagen puts a qualifying place for the eCoupe de France finals up for grabs

The Fédération Française de Football and its major partner Volkswagen are rolling out the "Raid to Clairefontaine" operation, a scheme designed to "reveal an esports talent who will win the golden ticket to the final stages of the eCoupe de France," announced the two parties on 20/05/2025.

The operation will see six players battle it out to win their place in the competition:
• four players who qualified in two online tournaments attended by "more than 180 people" in May 2024;
• two players who will be selected in a physical tournament organised in a Volkswagen dealership in Paris (15^th arrondissement) on 22/05/2025.

The six participants will then board a Volkswagen vehicle "transformed into a mobile gaming room", which will follow a six-stop route around Paris. At each stop, duels will be organised to eliminate one player until only two finalists remain. These will then be taken to the National Football Centre in Clairefontaine (Yvelines) to compete in the final of the operation, which will be broadcast live on streamer Zack Nani's Twitch channel.
