Finland: Modern Times Group acquires the pay-TV rights of the 2015-2018 Champions League

The Swedish broadcasting group MTG (Modern Times Group) has acquired the entire 2015-2018 audiovisual rights, for pay-TV in Finland, to the Champions League on 15/04/2015. MTG replaces the pay-TV group MTV3, the rightsholder during the 2012-2015 cycle.

MTG will offer all the matches of the Champions League, live, on its pay streaming platform Viaplay. A selection of the best games on Tuesday and Wednesday during each week of competition, and the final will be offered a new pay-TV channel launched in Finland for this occasion, Viasat Sport Finland.

  • Viasat Sport Finland will be distributed via the satellite bouquet Viasat and to the major cable operators via IPTV Television via IP, which is distribution of the TV signal via Internet Protocol.

    and DTT Digital Terrestrial Television in the Finnish market.
  • In addition to the Champions League, the channel will offer, from its launch, the NHL National Hockey League, the North American professional ice hockey league and KHL (Russian professional hockey league).
