OGC Nice: capacity capped at 27,000 at the Allianz Riviera in 2025-26

OGC Nice (Ligue 1 McDonald's) have introduced a 27,000-seat capacity at the Allianz Riviera (36,178 capacity, Nice, Alpes-Maritimes) in 2025-26, announced Fabrice Bocquet, CEO of the French club, on Ici Azur radio (France Bleu) on 21/05/2025.

"I think the region has the capacity to fill a stadium like the Allianz Riviera all the time, but at the moment that's not the case, and the reality is that it won't happen in a year," said the chief executive, who is particularly keen to reduce the no-show rate. "At some matches, it even exceeded 30%, meaning that almost one in three people who had a ticket didn't go to the stadium. By way of comparison, the average for Ligue 1 is just under 15%."

The stadium's capacity will be reduced by "largely" closing the third ring (excluding the south bend, where the supporters' groups are based), "which is only used for certain matches, and which sometimes causes the crowd to spread out between the stands, rather than sticking close to the team."
