Switzerland: Peter Knäbel to succeed Dominique Blanc as president of the ASF on 01/08/2025

Peter Knäbel, born in Germany on 02/10/1966, was elected president of the Swiss Football Association (ASF) by acclamation (he was the only candidate) at the delegates' meeting (which brings together the Swiss Football League, the Première Ligue and the Ligue Amateurs) held at the House of Swiss Sport in Ittigen, near Bern (SUI) on 24/05/2025.

Knäbel will officially take up his post on 01/08/2025, after the Women's Euro 2025 held in Switzerland from 02 to 27/07/2025, and will succeed Dominique Blanc, who has been president of the ASF since 01/07/2019.

"A former professional footballer, coach and manager, Peter Knäbel was the ASF's technical director from 2009 to 2014. He then held various management positions at two Bundesliga clubs, Hamburger Sport-Verein and FC Schalke 04," explained the Swiss FA.
