CBF: Samir Xaud, a 41-year-old doctor, elected president of the Brazilian Football Confederation

Samir Xaud, born on 25/02/1984, has been elected president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF/Confederação Brasileira de Futebol), following the victory of his list "Football for All: Transparency, Inclusion and Modernisation" at the general electoral assembly on 25/05/2025.

Ednailson Rozenha, Fernando Sarney, Flávio Zveiter, Gustavo Dias Henrique, José Vanildo da Silva, Michelle Ramalho, Ricardo Gluck Paul and Rubens Angelotti were elected vice-presidents.

Ednaldo Rodrigues had been unanimously re-elected CBF president for the 2026-2030 cycle on 24/03/2025, but after being accused of forgery, mismanagement and personal favouritism with resources from the CBF", he was dismissed with immediate effect by the Rio de Janeiro Court on 15/05/2025.

Fernando Sarney, then vice-president, who had denounced Ednaldo Rodrigues' actions, was appointed interim president and responsible for organising new elections.
