Kings League: partnership with SURJ Sports (PIF) to create the Kings League MENA

The Kings League has teamed up with SURJ Sports Investment, a sports investment company owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), to launch the Kings League MENA, announced the 7-a-side football competition created by investment fund Kosmos (founded by Spanish ex-footballer Gerard Piqué), on 27/05/2025.

"Details on team identities, celebrity team owners, and the competition’s format will be unveiled as the league builds toward its inaugural kickoff. The venture includes plans to engage local talent through open tryouts, draft mechanisms, and community activations, helping to foster a new pipeline of football and content creation talent across the Arab world," said the Kings League.

The 7-a-side football competition was launched in Germany on 12/04/2025, following successive launches in Italy (in February 2025), Brazil (on 29/03) and France (on 06/04). The Kings League was officially created by Kosmos in Spain at the beginning of 2023. It was then exported to South America with the launch of the Kings League Américas in February 2024.
