Eredivisie: Philips will end shirt sponsorship of PSV Eindhoven at the end of the 2015-16 season

Philips, a Dutch technology company active in public lighting and healthcare products, announced that it will cease to be the shirt sponsor of PSV Eindhoven (Eredivisie) at the end of the 2015-16 season on 22/04/2015.

PSV (Philips Sport Vereniging) was established by the Philips group in August 1913. The company, which is no longer a shareholder of the club, has appeared on the shirt of PSV since 1982. The amount is estimated at €1.4m per season. Philips also hold the naming rights to the club's stadium, the Philips Stadion (35,000 seats).

"PSV and Philips will open negotiations about a new deal, which allows the club to complete a deal with a new shirt sponsor. The club will take time to investigate and evaluate its future financial growth potential," announced PSV on 22/04/2015. Philips would like to remain an official partner of the club, but on a lower tier of the club's sponsorship programme.
