The DFL will offer a paying video-on-demand service to watch archive footage of the Bundesliga, starting from the 2015-16 season, announced the German professional football league on 22/04/2015. Users of this service will be able to choose from a selection of the best matches in the history of the German first division, match highlights from past seasons, player profiles and match reports.

Users can purchase a single piece of content or pay a subscription and have unlimited access. The video-on-demand offer will be distributed through Internet video sharing and/or streaming platforms (such as YouTube or Laola1.tv) and by TV broadcasters. "Sky Deutschland (the pay-TV group) could become the first partner" of the video-on-demand service, stated the DFL on 22/04/2015. The list of broadcasters and prices will be announced ahead of the start of 2015-16 season, added the German League.

  • The video-on-demand service is limited to archive images of the Bundesliga, that is to say, all the footage from the first season of the German first division in 1963-64 up to the end of the last season…
