Rangers FC: US consortium led by Andrew Cavenagh & 49ers Enterprises becomes a majority shareholder

A US-based consortium of investors led by health insurance entrepreneur Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises, a sports investment arm of the San Francisco 49ers (NFL), has acquired, through a new company named "Rangers FC LLC", a 51% stake in Rangers FC (William Hill Premiership) following "approval from the Scottish FA," announced the Scottish club on 30/05/2025.

As part of the deal, "the new leadership has committed to invest £20m ($26.9m) into the club at this time, which will be subject to shareholder approval at the general meeting on 23/06/2025," said Rangers FC, adding that the consortium will also "chart a new strategic vision for the club's future prioritising on-pitch performance and long-term financial sustainability."
