FIFA Club World Cup 2025: unprecedented use of artificial intelligence to supply data

"For the first time at a major tournament, FIFA will use algorithms developed by Football Technology Centre AG, its joint venture with Hawk-Eye Innovations Ltd, to automatically collect the majority of live event data based on the available tracking data," announced the world governing body regarding the first edition of its new competition, the Club World Cup, in its new 32-team format, organised in the United States from 14/06 to 13/07/2025.

"The Club World Cup will see a range of innovations introduced that will make the tournament even more entertaining and engaging for fans, while streamlining operations and boosting transparency," added FIFA.
