NHL: league bans accredited journalists from using the applications Periscope and Meerkat

The NHL has banned accredited journalists from broadcasting games via the live video applications Periscope and Meerkat to protect the holders of its audiovisual rights, announced Bill Daly, the deputy commissioner of the North American ice hockey league, on 21/04/2015.

"The NHL's media regulations prohibit unauthorised retransmission of any photo or other picture or description of a game's action, information about the game, any player interview or other activity that takes place in the arena, without prior written agreement of the NHL or the team in question," stated the NHL on 21/04/2015.
