LFP: a Mario Kart-style video to celebrate Ligue 1 reaching 20 million followers on TikTok

The Ligue de Football Professionnel has published a video featuring several of Ligue 1's star players in a world reminiscent of the video game Mario Kart (the latest instalment of which, "World", was released on 05/06 to coincide with the launch of Nintendo's Switch 2 console) to celebrate the Ligue 1 McDonald's account reaching the 20 million follower mark on the TikTok platform on 11/06/2025.

The Ligue 1 account has thus become "the league's number one audience channel on social networks," according to the LFP. "In three years, more than 15 million new followers have joined the community, thanks to a strategy that combines a strong territorial base with structured international growth."

The Ligue states that it has recorded "more than 4.6 million new followers over the last 12 months and more than 2 billion views generated over the same period" for an account "that constitutes a visibility tool at the service of broadcasters - both international and domestic - as well as commercial partners, who benefit from enhanced support from TikTok, in synergy with LFP Media's international…
