2024-25 Premier League: UK audiences down on TNT Sports (-17%) & Sky Sports (-10%)

The pay-TV groups TNT Sports and Sky Sports have seen respective audience declines of 17% and 10% for Premier League matches broadcast on their channels in the UK in 2024-25, according to the public broadcaster BBC on 11/06/2025.

Sky Sports broadcast 128 matches from the English top flight, while TNT broadcast 52 matches from the competition. Audience figures for the 20 matches broadcast (two full matchdays exclusively) on Amazon's Prime Video platform have not been communicated.

The 2024-25 season was the last in the rights cycle for broadcasting the Premier League in the UK over the 2022-2025 period. Sky, TNT Sports and the BBC renewed their domestic broadcasting rights to the competition for the next cycle (2025-2029) on 04/12/2023. Amazon, on the other hand, has not extended its rights.

The TV rights for the new cycle have been assigned for the first time over four years (compared with three previously). The total value of the deal is £6.7bn (€7.8bn as of 04/12/2023), or £1.67bn (€1.96bn) per year, which represents "a 4% increase in live rights value compared to the previous…
