Deloitte: a record €38bn in revenue (+8%) for European football in 2023-24

The European football market experienced an 8% increase in revenue to a record €38bn during the 2023-24 season (€35.3bn in 2022-23), according to the 2025 edition of Deloitte UK's Sports Business Group's "Annual Review of Football Finance" published by the audit and advisory firm on 12/06/2025.

The €38bn breaks down as follows:
• 53.6% (€20.4bn) for the top divisions in the European Top 5 countries (Bundesliga, LALIGA EA Sports, Ligue 1 McDonald's , Premier League and Serie A Enilive);
• 19.2% (€7.3bn) for the top divisions in countries outside the Top 5;
• 14.2% (€5.4bn) for FIFA, UEFA and national federations combined;
• 10.5% (€4bn) for Top 5 leagues excluding first divisions;
• 2.6% (€1bn) for leagues in countries outside the Top 5 below the first division.

Among the European Top 5 leagues, Ligue 1 McDonald's clubs posted the strongest growth in average revenues between 2022-23 and 2023-24, reaching 7%, ahead of LALIGA EA Sports (+6%) and the Premier League (+4%).
