Ligue 1 TV rights: two offers from the Canal+ group to distribute the channel in France (press)

The Canal+ group has sent two offers to LFP Media for the distribution of its channel dedicated to broadcasting Ligue 1 McDonald's matches in France from the 2025-26 season, according to the French sports daily L'Équipe on 12/06/2025.

The first offer would enable the French group to be the "exclusive agent" for the distribution of this channel to operators in exchange for a guaranteed minimum and "revenue sharing above a certain threshold", with also the possibility of co-broadcasting the Sunday evening fixture. The second offer would see Canal+ operate the "classic distribution" of the Ligue 1 channel.

The LFP is currently working on the launch of its own channel and is studying the various options available to it, particularly in terms of the content to be offered, production and distribution. This process was launched after LFP Media and DAZN announced that they had reached an agreement ending their dispute on 02/05/2025.
