European Leagues: Alberto Colombo promoted to managing director & general secretary

Italian Alberto Colombo, deputy general secretary of European Leagues since July 2015, has been promoted to managing director and general secretary of the organisation, announced European Leagues at the end of its board of directors meeting in Paris (FRA) on 13/06/2025.

Alberto Colombo joined European Leagues in January 2008 as head of marketing, media and communications, having been in charge of media operations for the organising committee of the Turin (ITA) 2006 Olympic Winter Games from 2004 to 2006. Colombo succeeds Dutchman Jacco Swart, who stepped down in March 2025.
