Tennis/Wimbledon: an interactive assistant developed by IBM among new AI features

IBM is stepping up its partnership with the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC), organiser of Wimbledon, and has launched new AI features for the 2025 edition of the Grand Slam tournament, announced the American company specialised in software, hardware and IT services on 17/06/2025. The tournament runs from Monday 30/06 to Sunday 13/07/2025.

The two companies have launched the "Match Chat" tool on the tournament's application and website, which allows users to chat with "an interactive AI assistant that can answer fans' questions during live singles matches," according to IBM. The "Likelihood to Win" tool, which offers "fans a projected win percentage that can change throughout each game" has also been improved. In particular, these solutions use the Watsonx artificial intelligence computer programme.
