France: Netflix-TF1 distribution agreement to include major live sports matches from summer 2026

The streaming platform Netflix has signed a distribution agreement with TF1 for the distribution of the channels and on-demand content (available via TF1+) of the private free-TV group from "summer 2026" in France, announced TF1 on 18/06/2025.

This agreement will include, in particular, the broadcasting of "major live sports matches" on Netflix. "This distribution partnership will see TF1 Group's hugely popular services available to Netflix members in France as part of their existing subscription, without ever having to leave the service," explained the group, which added that it and Netflix "have long worked together as creative partners."

TF1 holds exclusive broadcasting rights to the French men's football team (excluding the Euros and World Cup) from November 2022 until the end of the 2027-28 season, as well as exclusive free-to-air rights to 25 Euro 2028 matches. The Group also owns the free-to-air TV rights to games featuring the French men's and women's teams in FIBA international competitions over the 2025-2029 cycle.
