Women's football: "Our goal is to have 5 clubs in the European Top 5 by 2026" (V.C. Reynal, Mercury 13)

"We're actively working to expand our portfolio of clubs. We've been open about our ambition to establish a presence in the top five leagues in Europe over the next two years. Our goal is to have five clubs in these leagues by the end of next year (2026). We're definitely considering France and have already begun exploring opportunities there," said Victoire Cogevina Reynal, co-CEO of women's football club holding company Mercury 13, to News Tank Football on 16/06/2025.

The co-founder of the London-based company, which already owns FC Como Women (Serie A Femminile eBay), spoke as Mercury 13 is setting out to invest $100m in women's football over the next few years. Former Spain international Juan Mata is one of the latest investors to join the project, which already includes former England international Eni Aluko and former Italy international Giorgio Chiellini.
