Bundesliga: an average of 38,657 spectators per game (-2%) & a 97.1% stadium fill rate in 2024-25

The 18 Bundesliga clubs recorded an average of 38,657 spectators per match during the 2024-25 season, down 2% compared to the 2023-24 season (39,502 spectators). However, this decline can be explained by the lower overall commercial capacity of the stadiums compared to the previous season (mainly due to the relegation of 1.FC Köln). The German top flight thus welcomed a total of 11.8 million spectators, compared with 12.1 million in 2023-24. This puts the Bundesliga second among the European Top 5 leagues in terms of attendance, behind the Premier League (an average of 40,385 spectators per game).

With 81,365 spectators per game at the Signal Iduna Park (81,365 capacity), Borussia Dortmund is the German club with the highest attendance in the Bundesliga in 2024-25, ahead of FC Bayern Munich (75,000) and VfB Stuttgart (59,265). Borussia Dortmund even rank first in the European Top 5, just ahead of the Bavarian club, with Manchester United FC (Premier League, 73,747 spectators) completing the podium.
