Rangers FC: £20m investment by US consortium led by Andrew Cavenagh & 49ers Enterprises approved

Rangers FC (William Hill Premiership) shareholders have given their approval for a number of resolutions, including for the club's new owners, a US-based consortium of investors led by health insurance entrepreneur Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises, a sports investment arm of the San Francisco 49ers (NFL), to invest £20m ($26.9m) into the club, announced the club, following its general meeting held at the DoubleTree Hilton in Glasgow on 23/06/2025.

The US-based consortium acquired, through a new company named "Rangers FC LLC", a 51% stake in Rangers FC following "approval from the Scottish FA," on 30/05/2025 (see further reading). As part of the deal, "the new leadership committed to invest £20m ($26.9m) into the club," said Rangers FC at the time, who added that the consortium would also "chart a new strategic vision for the club's future prioritising on-pitch performance and long-term financial sustainability."
