Crystal Palace FC: Robert Wood Johnson to buy Eagle Football's 44% stake in the club (£190m)

Crystal Palace FC (Premier League) "can confirm that Robert Wood Johnson, 'Woody', an American businessman and co-owner of the New York Jets (NFL), has signed a legally binding contract to purchase Eagle Football's holding in the club (approximately 44%)," announced the club on 23/06/2025. The deal is valued at £190m (€222m) according British media reports by the BBC and The Guardian.

"Whilst the completion is pending approval from the Premier League and Women's Super League Football, we do not envisage any issues and look forward to welcoming Woody as a partner and director of the club," said Crystal Palace. American John Textor became a shareholder of the club in August 2021 for £87.5m (€103.2m), before transferring his shares to his club holding company Eagle Football Holdings, which was set up in November 2022.
